Knowledge Base: How do I post something on Kashless?

First, make sure you're logged into Kashless.org. (Sign-in is in the upper right hand corner of the screen.)

1. On the top of the Kashless.org home page click on “POST.” This should take you to this page .

2. First decide wether or not you are creating an "Offered" or a "Wanted" listing. (Are you giving something away or are you asking for something specific?)

3. Type in the “Title” of the item you’re giving away. This is what other members will see about your item when browsing through the free items on Kashless. An example of this would be “Book – The Great Gatsby.”

4. Type in the “Description” of your item. This is where you can include any details about your item which you may want other members to know. An example of this would be “Hard cover book, printed in 2007, good condition, available for pick-up immediately.”

5. Type in the approximate weight of the item that you are giving away. This helps us track the positive effects of your giving.

6. Type in your "location." This is the location where you would like to meet the person who will end up taking the item. Typically members type in the neighborhood where they live or work. Example “Lower Queen Anne, 98119.” You are welcome to be as specific or as vague as you choose.

7. Choose a Category for your item. If you feel as though your item does not fit into any specific category feel free to choose “miscellaneous.”

8. Add a photo of your item. This is highly recommended when posting an item on Kashless. Having a photo increases your chances of relieving yourself of the item as soon as possible, and decreases the number of questions you’ll receive from other members concerning the appearance, condition, size, etc of your item.

9. Now Click on “Preview” to view a preview of what your listing will look like other members, or click “Post my item” if you are ready to publish your listing.

10. After you have posted your item you will be given the opportunity to “promote your listing.” This is the final step in posting an item on Kashless. Promoting your listing gives you the opportunity to cross-post your listing to multiple free marketplaces, increasing the number of people who will view your listing, which increases the speed in which somebody will make you an offer. (Note: You are not required to complete this step of the process. Once you have completed step 7 of the posting process, your listing has been posted. Promoting your item simply increases the odds that your item will be taken as quickly and easily as possible.)
